Gentle, relaxing Reiki

A quiet hour to rest, breathe and reset.

Reiki is a calm, hands-on (or hands-near) practice where you lie fully clothed and simply relax. Sessions at Beehive Reiki are unhurried, kind and tailored to you.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese relaxation practice. The practitioner places their hands lightly on or just above the body while you rest, fully clothed, on a treatment couch. Many people describe it as deeply calming.

Reiki is a complementary practice. It is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and I never ask anyone to stop or change medical care. If you have a health concern, please speak to your GP or healthcare professional.

What to expect

  1. A short chat

We talk briefly about how you are feeling and what you would like from the session. Nothing you share is pressured.

  2. Rest

You lie comfortably, fully clothed, with a blanket if you wish. Soft music is optional, and you can ask for quiet instead.

  3. Gentle Reiki

I work in a calm, steady way. Touch is light and always optional. Just let me know your preference.

  4. A moment to settle

Afterwards there is time to come back slowly, with a drink of water and a chance to talk if you want to.

Questions

Do I need to take my clothes off?

No. You stay fully clothed throughout, so wear something comfortable.

Is it painful or intense?

No. Reiki is gentle. Most people feel relaxed, and some feel sleepy.

What if I would rather not be touched?

That is fine. Reiki can be given with hands held just above the body, or you can let me know if you would prefer a different approach.

Can Reiki cure or treat an illness?

No. Reiki is for relaxation and wellbeing. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any medical condition and is not a replacement for medical care.
